Travis Kelce’s best pal Ross Travis trades friendship bracelets and dances with Swifties as he attends Taylor Swift’s first Sydney Eras show: ‘I understand now, that was amazing!’
Travis Kelce’s best pal Ross Travis attended Taylor Swift’s first Sydney show on her Australian Eras tour on Friday night.
The global megastar, 34, took to the stage at the Accor Stadium to perform to a delighted crowd of 80,000 after a late start due to the storms and rain.
Taylor’s NFL star boyfriend Travis, 34, attended the show to support her after touching down in Sydney on Thursday for her jam-packed weekend of shows.
Travis’ friend Ross, 31, joined him for the big trip Down Under and he got into the full swing of Swiftie mania as he too attended Taylor’s much-awaited first Sydney show.
Ross took to his Instagram Stories in the early hours of Saturday to give an insight into his epic night out at the concert, where he traded friendship bracelets with fans.
He also took to the crowds to dance with fans as he shared a video of himself dancing the night away as he had the time of his life.
The NFL tight end admitted he finally ‘understands’ Swiftie mania as he gushed over how incredible the show – which was also attended by Rita Ora and Katy Perry – was.
He first shared a black-and-white video of himself flashing a love heart to the camera, while his arms could be seen heavily adorned in friendship bracelets – in line with fan tradition.
Ross then revealed he had thrown himself into the tour traditions as he went on to trade his bracelets with fans from all over the world.
Sharing a snap of his haul of bracelets, Ross said: ‘Made some friends tonight in Sydney… you didn’t disappoint!’
He also shared a picture of himself smiling in the VIP box alongside Travis and joked they had been compared to M&M chocolates in their bright yellow and blue outfits.
Sharing a close-up snap of his vibrant yellow crochet co-ord set, Ross gave his verdict on the show as he penned: ‘I understand now… That. Was. Amazing.’
Proudly watching on alongside Ross was Taylor’s boyfriend Taylor, who caused a roar from the crowd as he arrived to watch the pop star in action.
In videos shared to social media, the NFL star was seen strolling into the stadium before finding his seat at a special VIP box.
The sportsman could not wipe the smile off his face as Taylor impressed the crowds with her epic set list filled with her best-loved hits and some surprise tracks.
Despite the Accor Stadium having to be temporarily evacuated due to the storms, Taylor still put on a show-stopping performance for her delighted fans.
After the set for support act Sabrina Carpenter had to be cancelled, Taylor finally took the stage a little over 20 minutes after the scheduled start time of 7.30pm.
‘We have a little bit of a weather situation, we might have some rain, but I’ve never known an Aussie crowd to let that get in the way of having a good time,’ Taylor told her fans once she began her performance.
The wild weather lashing Sydney on Friday evening caused chaos for the 80,000 Swifties heading to her first show of the Eras Tour in the city.
Fans sitting on the floor and lower bowl levels of the stadium were asked to move inside after lightning struck just 10 kilometres away shortly before 6pm.
A statement from Accor Stadium issued just before 6pm told concert-goers the three-hour show had been delayed.
‘Please note, due to weather, show start time has been delayed,’ it said.
‘Stay undercover until further notice and follow venue screens and staff instructions.
‘Stay safe and remember to be kind to those around you.’
Taylor will once again take to the show on Saturday night, followed by two more shows on Sunday and Monday to conclude her Australian tour.
