Surprisedly: Travis Kelce joins Taylor Swift with a massive donation to family whose 2 children were injured during Kansas City Chiefs parade…
A celebratory parade meant for fans and players to enjoy the Kansas City Chiefs back-to-back Super Bowls ended in tragedy. In the days following the devastating loss of Elizabeth Lopez-Galvan, Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift have joined the NFL community in rallying together around the victims’ families.
Lisa Lopez-Galvan, a beloved DJ in Kansas City, was with thousands of fellow Chiefs fans in attendance for the team’s Super Bowl parade on Wednesday. A day of celebration ended in devastation when gunfire erupted, killing Lopez-Galvan and wounding 22 others.
While many of the victims who suffered injuries have since been released from the hospital, including a dozen children, the Lopez-Galvan family is now left without a mother and wife. As her family members continue to grieve, a community of Swifties, members of the Chiefs Kingdom, NFL fans and Swift have provided some support.
A GoFundMe page created to provide financial support for the Lopez-Galvan family during this difficult time has already raised nearly $350,000 since Thursday morning. More than 4,100 people across the country have personally contributed to the memorial fund.
Two of the Reyes’ children, both daughters, were injured by gunfire during the shooting at the parade. Kelce specifically donated to the Reyes family because of how much kids mean to him and his family.
Swift’s donation also helped provide more awareness for the Lopez-Galvan GoFundMe drive, with Kelce’s matching contribution sure to do the same. Altogether, the two GoFundMe campaigns for the Lope-Galvan and Reyes families have raised over $500,000 in just a few days.
