Kevin Hart Buys $7M Calabasas Mansion for Family Vacation
In certain situations, two is superior to one. And the more money you have on board, the more prevalent and urgent these cases become. With a reported net worth of $200 million, Kevin Hart is one of the wealthiest men in comedy. According to public records, he has invested $7 million of his wealth in a mansion next door to an even larger one he already owns.
2018 marked the completion of Hart’s custom-built primary residence, which is located in a small gated community on the semi-rural outskirts of Calabasas. The 9500-square-foot, vaguely contemporary, Mediterranean-style residence is situated on a 26-acre property, of which 24 acres are steep hillside and therefore unusable for construction. The lavish property includes, in addition to the main residence, two detached guesthouses, a children’s playground, a large swimming pool, and a volleyball court.
The 16.3-acre estate next door is also mostly hillside, but a two-acre graded lot features a 9,300-square-foot, architecturally ambiguous mansion with a grey tiled roof, as well as an infinity-edged swimming pool, a full-size tennis court, expansive lawns, and extensive gardens. The 2004-built home was never officially listed for sale.
According to property records, Hart also purchased the residence next door from Shakim Compere, a Miami- and Los Angeles-based film producer best known as Queen Latifah’s longtime business partner. The Queen and Compere founded Flavour Unit Entertainment in 1995; since then, the company has signed an exclusive overall contract with Netflix and produced over a dozen films and television series.
Compere and his wife Tonya paid $6.7 million for the high-maintenance estate in Calabasas in 2015, so it seems unlikely that they made a profit on the transaction to Hart and his wife Eniko Parrish.
The veteran comedian and actor Hart (“Jumanji,” “Think Like a Man,” “Get Hard”) now presides over a 42-acre estate with two swimming pools, two sports facilities and multiple structures totaling nearly 19,000 square feet of living space. There is also parking for dozens of vehicles off-street.
The “extra” home of Hart is hidden behind gates on an expansive lot. Behind its exterior of beige stucco and stone are six bedrooms and six restrooms.
Inside the residence are expansive formal living and dining rooms with expansive windows and wide-plank oak floors.
