As their star quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, envisioned a comeback, the Chiefs are likely to succeed.

It looks like Patrick Mahomes hasn’t lost the winning spirit, as he still believes that it won’t be long before the Kansas City Chiefs turn things in their favor after dropping to a 9-6 season standing following the humiliating loss against the Las Vegas Raiders. And as their star quarterback envisioned a comeback, the Chiefs are likely to succeed.
Christmas Day didn’t go as the Chiefs had planned, as they fell short against the Raiders by 20-14. Because of this, the reigning Super Bowl champions are delayed another week to clinch a playoff spot after winning their eighth consecutive AFC West championship.
I still believe that we can go do what we want to do.
In a recent press conference, Mahomes asserted
The star quarterback believes his team needs to rectify the previous mistakes that led to the defeats as soon as possible.
We’re two games left that are guaranteed and then you talk about the playoffs and so all you can do is move on to that next day, get better then and try to be better the next time we step on the field.
He added further
Luckily, the Chiefs aren’t too far behind, which means they won’t need to achieve a lot in this short duration. The team can gain back their strength with an improvement next week if they defeat the Cincinnati Bengals.
Why does Patrick Mahomes firmly believe in the Chiefs’ potential comeback?
In the game against the Raiders, the Chiefs finished the first quarter with a minus 18 yards, the worst record seen in the league since 2011.
They even handed the Raiders two crucial touchdowns, first due to the fumble after the poor handoff to the Mahomes by running back Isiah Pacheco, and second due to an interception thrown by Mahomes.

Therefore, it was obvious to ask the quarterback why he believed so evidently that his team would turn things around and fix the offensive problem that had cost them many victories.
You see glimpses of it. You see glimpses of us moving the football, you see glimpses of us scoring in the red zone. It’s just we haven’t consistently done it enough game in and game out at this end of the season.
He argued
Entering week 16, the Chiefs have been leading the league in dropped passes and offensive penalties while also being turnover leaders. The quarterback believes that for the Chiefs to reclaim their supremacy, they need to work on being consistent and get their strings together.
