Featuring items inscribed with the late rappers’ signatures.
Goldin
Goldin has assembled a few pieces of hip-hop history for its March Pop Culture Elite Auction, which presents notable artifacts, from collectible playing cards to toys and VHS tapes.
For this rendition of the monthly auction, the Goldin team looked to hip-hop’s immeasurable influence on American culture. Leading the lineup is an index card signed by the Notorious B.I.G. As the rapper passed away at 24, there are few signatures of his in circulation. The card features “Much Love, B.I.G” written in a felt blue pen.
Another signed item comes courtesy of the late Eazy-E, a CD of N.W.A.’s debut LP Straight Outta Compton, on which the rapper has referenced lyrics from the album: “2 Sam Stay Cool Homeboy F*ck Tha Police.”
A letter from Tupac Shakur to his girlfriend Simi is also on the auction block. He penned the letter in 1995 while incarcerated in a California prison. Additional items in the mix include musical memorabilia from Eminem and Mac Miller.
Goldin’s March Pop Culture Elite Auction will open an extended bidding period on April 13.
