After the Kansas City Chiefs won the AFC championship game, Taylor Swift was seen celebrating on the field with Travis Kelce and his family.
In photos that circulated later, Swift was spotted wearing a ring featuring Kelce’s #87.
The ring was part of a package sent to Donna Kelce from a local boutique, EB and Co., which sells Chiefs-themed items. Donna liked the items sent, prompting the boutique to send more, including the ring, in hopes she would gift some to Swift.
Website nearly crashed
The pictures went viral, causing the boutique’s website to nearly crash, with 500 pieces sold by Sunday night.
“It immediately went on fire,” Emily Bordner, the owner and creative director at EB and Co., told KMBC News.
“Everything is insane. The site apparently slowed down because there were so many people on it. We sold out of things immediately.
“It was just absolute chaos, but it was very exciting. So, this is definitely a once in a lifetime thing.
“We gifted Donna some pairs. We know that she loved our earrings. And so, we wanted to gift her even more of Kelce themed products.
“So, we sent those to her and then we were hoping that she would give them to Taylor. And she did.”
Swift’s previous Chiefs-themed attire, notably a red puffer jacket, also gained attention, leading to a licensing deal for the designer.
“if anyone was wondering where Taylor’s 87 ring came from….. I spotted it when I was in KC recently, I think it’s the same collection as my shuttlecock earrings – the store is eb and co (in the Plaza),” a fan wrote on social media.
